Bata in partnership with Tikonze Apapa, has made a significant contribution to the education sector through its Bata Children Program. The company has donated educational materials valued at MK1.6 million to Deaf students at Mpalankhanga Secondary School.
The donation includes essential items such as exercise books, pens, sanitary pads, and many more aimed at improving the learning environment and experiences of Deaf students.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Bata’s Human Resource and Administrations Manager Lightwell Harawa emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting vulnerable groups especially children in education. "We recognize the unique challenges faced by Deaf students and are proud to support their educational journey through this donation."
Tikonze Apapa's Project Manager, Abigail Khombe, expressed gratitude to Bata for their generosity. "This partnership demonstrates Bata's dedication to inclusive education and empowering marginalized communities."
Mpalankhanga Secondary School's Deputy Headteacher, Aubrey Kamulira, thanked Bata and Tikonze Apapa for the timely donation, saying, "These materials will greatly enhance our students' learning experience and address some of the challenges they face."
