Tikonze Apapa, a vibrant Malawian organization empowering Deaf youth through digital content creation, stood out at MACRA’s USF Digital Creators Cocktail held at BICC in Lilongwe.
The event
brought together creatives funded by the Universal Service Fund, offering a
platform to showcase work and connect. Tikonze Apapa premiered a trailer for Tiko
the Pangolin, an educational children’s animation, and Tempolale, a
music video interpreted in Malawian Sign Language.
The team
also unveiled a powerful documentary series spotlighting underrepresented
voices in Malawi. In their remarks, Tikonze highlighted how USF support has
helped them expand inclusive content and invest in Deaf talent, reaffirming
their commitment to digital inclusion and social change.
